The Scary Train!!

The BIG SCARY TRAIN is coming!!! Ahhh!!! Haha. This past weekend we went down to Pomona for our annual early Christmas celebration with my mom's side of the family. Every year, my Grandpa sets up his electric train around the christmas tree.  To say Landen was afraid would be putting it nicely. He was NOT a fan!! Especially when the train horn would sound.  Ryan stood up by the stairs and let him watch from far away. He seemed to be doing okay as long as he kept his distance but he would not take his eyes off of that train for a second!

Ryan slowly moved down the stairs and sat on a chair by the living room entrance...

Landen still kept hid eyes glued to the train, but this is the closest he had gotten!!
And then....to the floor!! He sits and watches...

He's sitting so close just like his brother!! Who LOVED the train. I'm telling you. My boys are complete opposites in every sense of the word.  This was Vincent.....Staring at the train the whole time it was on, not the least bit afraid.

Our family had a great time! And my Grandparents loved having their great grandkids at their house (we missed Kyston that's for sure!!!, and his mom and dad too :) )

Here is GG (great grandma) With Austin and Trevor (3 yrs.) Vincent and Landen (9 months) and Lexi (5 months)

My babies looked so grown up in their button up shirts! Before we left Friday to head down south the boys had their 9 mo. well baby appointment.  No shots this time, ya!!! Here are their stats:

Vincent: 19 lbs 2 oz  28.25 inches
Landen: 16 lbs 10 oz  27.75 inches

Lights of Love

Angel Babies is a non-profit organization that helps parents cope with the loss of a baby during pregnancy or after.  They were a huge support for Ryan and I during and after my stay in the hospital. They gave Karissa a cute pink teddy bear and the boys two brown ones that match.  They continue to call me to see how I'm doing and have been a great source of peace.
Angel Babies (Hinds Hospice) had a lighting ceremony tonight at Riverpark in Fresno to remember the loved ones who passed away this year.

A choir sang "The Prayer" while we lit our candles. And then they read off the names. My parents and my grandparents sponsored candles for Karissa.

This is a great organization, I wish it was available for people here in Visalia. I feel blessed to have delivered in Fresno and to have this much love and support available to us.

We had the boys bundled up because it was super cold. But they were there to honor their sister. Maybe we can make this a yearly tradition. "Lights of Love for Karissa"

After they read off all of the names. They lit the beautiful large christmas tree located near the center of the Riverpark shopping center.  The tree was gorgeous! (This picture doesn't do it justice)  There is a light on that tree that represents our precious Karissa Marie.

We were grateful to have had tonight to remember her. She will have an awesome first Christmas in Heaven with Jesus!

And we are so grateful for the two gifts God has given us this year!

Turkey Day!

ok. well you won't find any pictures of the turkey but this year was for sure a memorable one!! For SEVERAL reasons. One in particular was that our home became a barber shop :) This year I had to work Thanksgiving day...which wasn't so bad. Ryan's family was getting together on friday and mine on saturday, so I wasn't really missing out on any family gatherings.  Somebody has to be working at the hospital on a holiday right??!! For a few weeks now I have been BUGGING/NAGGING Ryan to let me cut the boys' hair. They were looking so scraggly and for some reason Ryan just didn't want to do it.  Why? I don't know! He never gave a good reason. SO finally, when I got home from work I talked him into getting the hair trimmers out.  Trying to cut hair is HARD! Trying to cut hair on a 9 month old that doesn't sit still....EVER! Is even HARDER!

Landen's hair is so fine. I didn't think I cut that much off until I saw the back of his shirt!!! I saved a little lock of hair for their scrapbooks.
This is Landen's finished look. Haircut by mom. Style by dad.  Landen show's of his haircut AND his brush eating skills.

Vincent has much thicker hair. Ryan tried putting it in a mohawk and then just have me trim the top off.  It sort of worked.  I ended up cutting it pretty short.

Before.....

After.......

Their hair looks so much better! But it was sad to see all of the hair lying there on the counter.  My babies are growing up!

So I'm addicted to Pinterest. Right now I'm looking up party ideas. Time to start planning the big 1 year party! I'm thinking firefighter theme (shocker..I know).  All ideas welcome! I'm thinking about attempting to make a fire engine cake! and incorporating dalmatians. Any ideas?!?!

Swingin'

This month has flown by. I know I'll post some pictures of Turkey day. But before the boy's 9th month of life is over I thought I share a few NEW things that have happened this month.
Today Ryan and I took the boys to the neighborhood park for the first time. I can't believe it has taken us this long to go, because it is literally across the street from us.  You can see our house in the background of the pictures (the one on the right).  The boys LOVED the swing!!!

Guess who has TWO teeth that popped through?!?! Vincent finally beat Landen at something (not that we make things a competition around here, hee hee)  His bottom two teeth are peaking through. Picture is a little blurry but you can kinda see 'em

Speaking of who did what first....
Guess who is CRAWLING?!?! yep...Landen. Vincent is almost there but not quite. Boy is Landen on the move....

We have also graduated to eating three meals a day (actual baby food each meal) with a bottle in the afternoon to tie them over between lunch and dinner.  They are really getting the hang of putting those little puffs in their mouths, working on the fine motor skills.  Ryan calls them "hush puffs" because it keeps them busy while we are getting their food ready. Man are they impatient when it comes to eating!!!
We have a pretty nice bedtime routine down which the boys love. Dinner, bath, some play time, storytime, bed. And Ryan is officially OFF WORK for the winter!! So excited to have more help around here and of course to see him more often.  And I love having him help with that bedtime routine. The boys love their daddy.

Our First Halloween!

Ryan decided to stay home from work on Monday. It was a awesome day all around. I took advantage and ran errands while Ryan stayed home. I spent way too long at Joanns WANTING too many things I do not NEED and way to long in Walmart because EVERYONE in town was there! When I got home both boys were sitting in their bouncers on the driveway while Ryan was mowing the lawn. It was so cute to pull up to the house and see all 3 of my boys outside. We enjoyed a family lunch out front consisting of Taco Bell (of course). Then the afternoon turned into yard work day for both Ryan and I. I wasn't planning on weeding and trimming bushes but I have to admit, it was so much more productive and more fun doing it with two people than by yourself. So While the boys napped we finished up and got ready for the night. By then it was time to enjoy halloween!!! We fed the boys and dressed them in their pajamas that my SIL Candice got them. No costumes this year....but I think they still look pretty darn cute regardless!

We went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood with cousin Ethan I mean Woody.  Boys were even handed a few treats and they grabbed them without hesitation!  They took a little evening nap in the stroller, while we enjoyed the walk around to all of the houses.

The cutest little feetsies

The scariest house we went to!
Just waking up from their nap

My sister came over to hang out for a little bit and brought her mickey mouse pumpkin ears.   Can't wait to take the boys to disneyland some day!

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!

3 Rivers with Grammie

This past weekend, my parents went camping up in 3 Rivers (only about 45 minutes away). My dad had to go to work Monday but my mom had a couple more days off, so monday morning the boys and I drove up to 3 Rivers and we hung out with Grammie for a couple days.  The boys took AWESOME naps! It must have been the fresh air and the relaxing sounds of the river near by.  Of course, Mom and I got a bunch of game playing in and the boys enjoyed playing in the great outdoors.  There was a metal telephone pole nearby that woodpeckers kept dropping acorns down into. As the acorn would fall it would hit the metal rods that were stuck through the post for footsteps. It sounded like the PLINKO chips falling on the Price is Right game. So all day long we would hear that sound and say "Plinko"! Poor birds aren't smart enough to realize they won't be able to get back any of the acorns they are "saving"!

Here was our beautiful view from the trailer:

I just love these little faces...I could kiss them all day long!

The boys LOVED playing horsey on grammies leg. And then Vincent decided to lick Landen's hair.

They LOVE their Grammie...and I think she kind of likes them too!
